In October 2020, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) launched cooperation with four civil society organizations under Phase II, providing the core funding for them. This development assistance is aimed to contribute to the implementation of the organisational strategy of four EUACI CSO partners.
The Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC) has become one of the EUACI institutional partners for the next couple of years.
UNIC is a unique collective action initiative that unites businesses around the values of transparency, integrity, and zero tolerance for corruption. In 2017 more than 40 companies came together and signed the Declaration on Business Integrity, which served as a basis for the establishment of the Ukrainian Network for Integrity and Compliance.
Today, UNIC comprises 50 companies who represent more than 100,000 employees, predominantly from the pharmaceutical, agricultural, financial services, construction, trade, food, and manufacturing industries, as well as legal services.
Previously, UNIC conducted numerous awareness-raising activities, launched a system of compliance certification for its members, and engaged in active policy dialogue with the Government on systemic changes that are necessary to create a more predictable and fairer investment climate.
The EUACI, funded by the EU, co-funded, and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, continues to support Ukraine in the fight against corruption through the empowerment of media, civil society, businesses, and state institutions.
