There is a stereotypical opinion that it is almost impossible for unexperienced students to find a job in their field of study. However, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) is successfully breaking down these prejudices.
The winners of last year's All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court 2.0, supported by the EUACI, in a fierce competition with 107 teams, won the opportunity to undergo an internship at the EUACI office in Kyiv.
During the internship, students from Kharkiv and Odesa were fully immersed in the work of the international program and learned about many aspects of anti-corruption activities. During this period, the future lawyers were involved in the analysis of EU legislation and changes to Ukrainian regulations, as well as held meetings with the program partners, including IZI, AntAC, MP, investigative journalist Yuriy Nikolov.
The students visited one of the Integrity Cities - Zhytomyr, where they had the opportunity to learn about the mechanism of reducing corruption risks at the local level; participated in HACC hearings, and analyzed the best practices of foreign recovery experience.
"I am sincerely grateful to the EUACI team for the invaluable experience they shared and for the opportunity to work in an atmosphere that inspires us to make changes and improve our country here and now," student Anna Perederiy shared her impressions.
Similar internships have significant practical importance for shaping a new generation of anti-corruption professionals, so EUACI plans to expand internship programs for students in the future.
