Mykolaiv became a partner of the EUACI as an Integrity City in August 2022. The visit included meetings with key stakeholders, highlighting the potential for future collaboration.

“We observe a strong commitment from the Mykolaiv City Mayor to enhance integrity and transparency in local governance. As a result of our close cooperation, the financial control and audit will be strengthened, procurement processes improved, new digital solutions introduced and the city will be better prepared for transparent reconstruction with respect for integrity,” emphasized the Head of the EUACI after the meeting with the City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

The discussions centered on shared visions, the exchange of innovative ideas, and the exploration of potential areas for cooperation between Mykolaiv City Council and the EUACI. Additionally, the EUACI team met with the CEO of the Mykolaiv water supply enterprise, as an integrity assessment of the enterprise is planned to begin in June.  By undertaking this assessment, the EUACI aims to enhance the functioning and transparency of the enterprise, making it more appealing for much-needed investments.

The visit also included talks with a local investigative journalist.
