On 25 September, with the support of EUACI, the conference “Small-Scale Privatization. Digitalization of the State Asset Management” took place in Kyiv. The event was dedicated to discussing the first results of the small-scale privatization in Ukraine, as well as the prospects for both the project and the digitalization process in Ukraine’s economic development.
A year of the small-scale privatization of public property through ProZorro.Sale has brought UAH 1.48 billion to the country’s budget. EUACI has supported the development of specialized module from the beginning of the project.
Local governments accounted 61% of the successful auctions in total which attracted around UAH 910 mln to their budgets.
As of today 239 cities, towns, and amalgamated communities from different regions of Ukraine have already adopted the ProZorro.Sale system. In particular, Zhytomyr, a participant of the EUACI’s "Integrity Cities" project, became one of the leaders in terms of the amount of funds attracted to the local budget, according to the ProZorro.Sale cities’ ranking. Thanks to ProZorro.Sale system small-scale privatization in Zhytomyr has brought UAH 101,976 mln to the budget.
Elena Konceviciute, Senior Anti-Corruption Adviser, talked about this during her opening speech:
"We're extremely proud to be part of transformations happened to small-scale privatization and leasing of public property by Ukrainian cities. We're very thankful to our Integrity Cities for taking this system on board. For instance, Zhytomyr was the first city in Ukraine that introduced and uploaded the small-scale privatization lots into the ProZorro.Sale system"
Sukhomlyn Serhii, City Mayor of Zhytomyr:
"We were one of the first cities to join the small-scale privatization in the ProZorro.Sale system, and got very impressed even with the first bidding over three small shops (up to 150 m2 each), which were privatized for comparatively big amount of money. And it is not only additional revenue to the local budget, but also a corruption risks reduction. We have already sold 15 facilities, and the process continues. We have a long-term plan for the sale of municipal property."
