Call for Community Relations Consultant in Nikopol (deadline extended)

The European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) is now looking for part-time and locally based consultant to support the implementation of programme activities in the partner city of Nikopol.  

1. Your role 

As a Community Relations Consultant, your role will be to support the implementation of our programme. More specifically, you will be working to enhance public participation in and awareness of EUACI activities in your city. This will include seeking out civil society actors, who are working on integrity and anti-corruption issues and who may be interested in applying for grants from the EUACI. You will also be working to maintain an on-going local dialogue on integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption issues through your cooperation with civil society actors, the local business community, media, public service providers, the city administration, and the EUACI advisor to the mayor. You will help pursue synergies with these and other stakeholders through information sharing, dialogue and facilitation of donor coordination related to transparency, integrity and anti-corruption. 

The activities include the following:  

  1. map or update of maps of relevant stakeholders and situation profiles in the integrity cities (media, civil society organisations as well as business associations);
  2. raise awareness about EUACI grants ,‘Call for Proposals’, and when needed assist civil society organisations and business associations in preparing applications. Liaising with the regional hubs in charge of the “Call for Proposals”;
  3. build relations between local and national stakeholders, including inrelation to activities financed through call for proposals and the national CSOs supported by EUACI with a view to facilitate networking as well as capacity development;
  4. facilitate the envisaged tri-partite dialogue between the municipality, the CSOs, and the business community;
  5. raise public awareness of EUACI activities, including through working with local media;
  6. prepare communication and visibility activities, incl. drafting of input for newsletters etc.;
  7. monitor and evaluate CSOs receiving grants;
  8. share results, experiences and lessons learned among CSOs and with the public; and possibly within the business community
  9. assist with any other duties as assigned.

2. About You

You live in Nikopol. You know your city very well and you are an active member of the local community. You have a keen sense of ethics, integrity, and credibility. You are neutral, impartial and independent. You are self-motivated, focused on results, and capable of working independently with little supervision, completing tasks on time while maintaining a high standard of quality in your work. 

In addition, we hope you have: 

  • practical experience from project-based work with or for civil society organizations and/or business associations in your city; 
  • a strong interest in and profound insight into the local political situation, key stakeholders and influencers in the concerned integrity city, including local political actors, civil society, business community, and media;
  • good inter-personal and communication skills; including ability to convey information effectively and to understand ideas and information presented in writing and verbally;
  • networking skills, including a developed network of professional contacts in a city; 
  • a Smartphone and access to the Internet from home and experience with Microsoft Office products, and Outlook.

It would be an advantage if you have at least basic English language skills, possess your own vehicle, driving license, and appropriate insurance.
